Dear God
Dear God,
Thank you for loving me, for placing people in my life that love me and will pray for me and still love me in spite of myself.
I received a book today called "Gifts of Friendship". The 1st page contains the verse "Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed." James 5:16 This was so fitting for my day. I'm usually a "glass-half-full" kind of person, but it seems lately my glass is half empty. What do you do when the world sees you as someone who has got it all together, but in real life, you feel like it's all just a big jumbled up mess? What would someone think if they knew that you didn't have the kind of day on the inside that it appeared you had on the outside--that you really didn't have it all together at all?
That is where a good friend steps in...she'll listen to your secrets without interupting and simply say, "I will pray for you." What can really be better than that?
This book offers the words "Opening up about our innermost fears, desires...and personal failings not only heals those hurts, it also creates community and a deeper bond with others." "Confession is good for the soul."
I'm learning that more than any other time in my life so far, friends are so very important. I am thankful for the ones that I have.
What amazing timing to receive this book. God knows, and he provides. He has provided wise counsel in the form of timely and amazing friendships.
Encourage one another daily, as long as it is called Today.--Hebrews 3:13
