Fourteen Years

Happy 14th birthday Benjamin Thomas.

Fourteen years ago we welcomed baby #5.  Benjamin.  Roly-poly, dark, curly-haired, super-smiley, quite possibly the orneriest newest addition to our crazy family.  At the point of your 14th birthday, you are:  in 8th grade.  5'10' tall.  155 pounds.  Good at math.  Sharing a room with your brother Joe.  Excelling in football, basketball, baseball and track, and still contemplating wrestling.  Have a great voice.  Wear a size 12.5 shoe.  Enjoy MineCraft and Clash of Clans.  A great leader and a good friend and example to those whose lives you're part of.  Eager for highschool.

Your mischievous eyes gave you away immediately and always.  With Grandma Esther at our house in Eagle.  2006
I've always said that you are the one that caused my hair to grey.  This type of thing was a regular occurrence.

These photos are in no particular order, simply a complication of your year.
A week in Colorado with Uncle Cash and Aunt Annie.
You took the train, which was an adventure inside of an adventure!
When we arrived at the station, we were informed that you weren't old enough to travel by yourself.    The trip wasn't scrapped though.  We found another passenger going to Denver and coming home the same day too that offered to be your "adult".  It is highly unlikely we would have ever considered this option for kid #1, but I guess as #5 you have the benefit (?) of our parenting experience and wisdom.  Thank goodness for cell phones!!
