Happy Birthday to Millie

Amelia Therese...you're three.  THREE!!!  What a joy the last three years with you has been.  Up until now, everyone that has been the cutest baby ever eventually makes way for the newest cutest baby ever and everyone forgets how adorable their former youngest sibling once was.  Not you...you are still the object of each of your siblings' affection!  You better play it up and take it for all they are willing to give you in the way of doting on you and teaching you and just plain lavishing you with their love.  Rumor has it that some things that used to be cute suddenly lose their cuteness...I'm sure this doesn't apply to you.

You may be the second most excited child in regard to anticipating your birthday.  Benjamin has taught you well to very eagerly await your big day.  There are just under four weeks from Joe's birthday to yours, so you got plenty a practice singing happy birthday and you've been able to really watch and learn what to expect.  "How many days now mama?" is what I heard for 13 days!

Your birthday cake was actually pie.  Vanilla pudding pie with Cool Whip chickens nesting on top of them.  You are my chicken girl.  You've always enjoyed helping me take care of the chickens and you're always eager to help gather the eggs.  No one would ever guess that each time you find an egg, it isn't your first time.  You are so excited every time we go to the barn as if it is a completely new experience.

Amelia, you are thoughtful, making sure that everyone is taken care of. You are generous, sharing your toys, your snacks and your blanket. You are polite saying please and thank yous. You are independent, getting dressed by yourself. You are helpful, always pulling up a chair to be my kitchen assistant. You are inquisitive asking "why" about most everything that happens. You are social, always wanting to talk to whomever is on the phone. You are eager, counting the days until you get to go to Cowboy Grandpa's farm. You are bright, counting to high numbers and recognizing "A for Amelia". You are talented, singing songs all day long...in tune even! You are a little girl wanting your nails painted and playing dress up and a little tom-boy that can toot on cue with the best of the boys! There isn't much that your siblings do that you don't at least attempt.

You announce everyday when you hear the garage door open that "Daddy's home" and then you great him at the door with a huge smile and a hug and ask him, "Daddy...you home?"  Likewise, when you enter the house and he's already there, you announce, "Daddy...I home!!!"

You bring a smile to my face each an every day as you stroll out of bed to the breakfast table announcing that you're awake and greeting me with a big kiss and hug.  You tell me each day as you stretch out your arms as far as they can reach, "Jesus loves me this much".  Yes He does Millie, and so do we!!

Happy third  birthday Amelia Therese!  Thank you for being born.  You are our favorite Millie in the whole wide world.
